Cosmetic Dentistry

It's impossible to overstate the emotional, social and even professional benefits that smiling with confidence can give you. If you find you cover your mouth when you smile, or even hold back your smile because you don't want to show your teeth, you should consider what cosmetic dentistry — the art of smile enhancement — can do for you.

Before and After Cosmetic Dentistry.

There's so much that can be done these days to improve the appearance of a person's smile — at any age. From powerful, professional whitening treatments to amazingly realistic porcelain veneers to state-of-the-art dental implants, there's a wide range of exciting possibilities.

The first step in any smile makeover is a thorough dental examination to make sure that your cosmetic problems really are just that and not a sign of underlying dental disease. Once your health has been established, your smile can be cosmetically enhanced in a variety of ways.

Your Smile Makeover

The most important job you have as a member of your own smile makeover team is to communicate exactly what you don't like about your smile and how you'd like it to be different. Before the first consultation, give some thought to the following questions:

  1. What do you like or dislike about the color, size, shape and spacing of your teeth?
  2. Are you pleased with how much your teeth show, both when you smile and when your lips are relaxed?
  3. Do you want teeth that are perfectly aligned and a bright “Hollywood White,” or would you prefer a more natural look with slight color, shape and shade variations?
  4. Would you like more or less of your gums to show when you smile?

It is extremely helpful for you to bring in pictures you have collected — of smiles you like, smiles you don't like, and/or photos of the way your own smile used to look if that's the result you're aiming for. Now is the time to get started on creating a smile that will make you feel as good as you look!

Cosmetic Dentistry Procedures

A successful smile makeover is a team effort between you and the dentists who treat you. Depending on which procedures you choose, other highly skilled professionals such as dental lab technicians may also play a crucial role. Some common cosmetic dentistry procedures include:

Dental Implants

Dental implants are made with a titanium implant and a custom-fitting dental crown. Implants provide cosmetic and oral health benefits alike. Please visit our Dental Implants page where details about the benefits, types, care, and costs is shared in better detail.

Crowns & Bridges

Also known as 'caps', cosmetic crowns are custom shaped and created by our dentist and fit over your whole tooth. This procedure is great when your teeth/tooth is poorly shaped, badly decayed, broken, chipped, have had large fillings, or to 'bridge' spaces between teeth. (Watch Video)

Porcelain Veneers

Veneers are a dental shell made from medical-grade porcelain, which is bonded to the front of a tooth.  This cosmetic treatment is a wonderful solution when teeth have large chips or cracks, are discolored or to reshape existing teeth into the desired shape. We also provide full-coverage crowns that produce the same results but are custom-made crowns that fit over the whole tooth. (Watch Video)

Teeth Whitening

Professional teeth bleaching systems outlast and produce a brighter result than over-the-counter options. We're happy to provide at-home whitening trays from Opalescence and in-office treatments to brighten a faded or discolored smile in a non-invasive procedure. (Watch Video)

Tooth-Colored Fillings

Composite fillings are used more often than amalgam or gold fillings and are a great choice for our patients who prefer a more natural look in their restorations. Dental fillings, no matter the material, do not last forever and our resin fillings are a great option when older fillings need replacing as well.  (Watch Video)

Gum Lifts

This procedure, also known as 'gum contouring', raises and sculpts the gum line. By reshaping the tissue and/or underlying bones, the appearance of your teeth becomes longer or symmetrical and more aesthetically pleasing.

Schedule Your Cosmetic Dentistry Consultation Today

To ensure your cosmetic procedure is an absolute success, we provide consultation appointments prior to any treatment. During this exam, our dentist will evaluate the contours, condition, and the health of your mouth and teeth to determine what approach is best. This is also a great time to address your concerns and ask questions. To schedule your consultation appointment, please contact our office at the number below.

You may also make a consultation appointment by submitting the Consultation Request form (see below). After we receive it, we'll contact you to confirm your appointment and address any questions you have prior to visiting our office.
